After full discussion with parents/carers, staff and Governors, a school uniform was chosen, which reflects the first uniform adopted when Glade Hill was opened. We expect all children to wear school uniform.
Our uniform is smart and serviceable and creates a sense of belonging. It also reduces disagreements at home about School clothing and avoids teasing at School about current fashions in clothes. It demonstrates our commitment to treat everyone as equal.
Children also need to have suitable clothing to change into for P.E. Indoor P.E. requires shorts and a T-shirt, with outdoor sessions requiring, in addition, sensible footwear to match the activity. All clothing should be clearly labelled. Each child is provided with a School P.E. bag for their kit. PE kit should be brought each Monday and taken home at the weekend for washing.
Our School Uniform comprises:
Burgundy fleece
Burgundy Sweatshirt*
Burgundy and light blue tie*
Burgundy cotton cardigan*
White/grey/light blue shirt or blouse
Blue Polo Shirt*
Black/grey trousers
Blue & White or Burgundy & White gingham dress (summer)
Black/grey skirt
White T-shirt and black shorts for P.E.
(*These items can be purchased from the Office)
PLEASE NOTE:
Fashion clothes and sports wear are not appropriate. The wearing of jewellery is NOT ALLOWED and School cannot accept responsibility for injuries caused by the wearing of jewellery or for any jewellery lost or stolen.
For your child’s own safety if they have pierced ears we urge you to only use studs whilst your child is at School. All studs must be removed for P.E. and swimming. If your child would find this difficult, please remove them at home for P.E./swimming days.
